Captain Tristen grew up on the water — literally. As the son of Captain Lester Wenger, he has been fishing the waters off Haulover Inlet since before he could walk. What started as tagging along on his dad's charters as a kid turned into a lifelong passion and a career on the ocean. Today, Tristen is a USCG-certified captain and a key part of the Fishing With Lester operation.

Tristen brings the same dedication to putting clients on fish that his father is known for. He runs both offshore deep sea charters and inshore trips out of Haulover Inlet, targeting everything from sailfish and mahi mahi offshore to snook and tarpon along the flats and mangroves of Biscayne Bay. He also catches and provides fresh live bait — pilchards, threadfin herring, and more.

Having grown up learning the tides, currents, reef structures, and seasonal patterns from one of Miami's most experienced captains, Tristen has an instinct for the water that goes beyond what any book or course can teach. He knows where the fish are, what they're eating, and how to get you hooked up — whether you're a seasoned angler or stepping on a boat for the first time.
